Chicken Kiev is one of our favorite recipe!

It's a boneless chicken breast, pounded and rolled around with garlic butter, coated with eggs and breadcrumbs. You can either bake or fry it, your choice. Usually, we choose to fry it to get that crispy texture.

We're going to tell you about how to make Chicken Kiev with our style!

Homemade Chicken Kiev with Baby Potatoes, Tomatoes, and Fresh Salad

Ingredients (for 2 people) :

100g breadcrumbs

100g flour

2 eggs

2 chicken breasts

200g baby potato, cut in half

200g cherry tomato, cut in half

1 box mix vegetables for salad

40g butter, softened

1tbs Parsley, minched

2 cloves garlic, crushed

4tbs lemon juice

Olive oil

Vegetable oil

Seasoning :

Salt

Cracked blackpepper

Chilli powder

Step 1 : Cook potatoes in medium pot of boiling salted water until tender around 15 minutes.

Step 2 : Place butter, crush garlic with salt, and parsley into one bowl then mix well. Spoon the mixture into plastic wrap and twist the end forming a round-long log.

Step 3 : Debone chicken breast and fillet the tenderloin below the chicken breasts. Trim excess fat and remove the skin. Using sharp knife, make a deep cut along 1 side of each chicken breast to form a large pocket. Put the butter mixture and seal with flattened chicken tenderloin.

Step 4 : Place breadcrumbs, eggs, and flour mixture into different bowl. Whisk the egg mixture well and season the flour using salt, cracked blackpepper, and a pinch of chilli powder. Coat the chicken in flour, shaking off excess. Dip in the egg, and breadcrumbs, then deep fried on the oil over medium heat. Cook 2-3 minutes each side.

Step 5: While waiting the baby potatoes and chicken, make a simple dressing using 2tbs lemon juice, 4tbs olive oil, pinch of salt, pinch of blackpepper and mix well. Cut cherry tomatoes in half with mix vegetables, and pour the dressing over and mix well.

Step 6 : Serve with drained baby potatoes and chicken over the salad. Enjoy ~

We're invited by RED Magz to Food Tasting at Chakra Lounge on last 22nd October 2015. And of course, this food tasting is held to celebrate one of the founder RED Magz, Raphael (Happy birthday to you! :D) We're also have a chance to meet other foodies and it's really fun to know them :)

We've been to Chakra Lounge before and we're really happy to go back and taste their delightful menu. Chakra Lounge is one of our favourite restaurant in Tangerang. The ambience is nice, place is spacious, and it's designed very elegant. A very recommended place for romantic lunch/dinner with your loved one.

There are 5 main menus and 4 desserts that we've tried at the event.

Main Menu

Chicken Cutlet

It's a pan seared boneless chicken leg with potato, green bean, and cream mushroom sauce. Tasted nice, good portion, love the sauce.

Beur Blanc Fish

It's a pan seared white fish with beur blanc sauce (cream sauce) served with mashed potato. The texture of the mashed potato is right. Their beur blanc sauce elevates the menu. The fish is not complete without the sauce.

White Wine Lobster 

Baked lobster tail in white wine sauce served with creamy mashed potato. Yes, this is our favourite! Lobsters are fresh and so delish. Really love the idea of adding melted cheese on top of the lobster. Very nice and recommended menu at Chakra Lounge.

Aglio Olio Salmon 

Pasta with olive oil, grilled salmon, dried chilli, and garlic sauce. So, if you're a fan of aglio olio, you should order this. It's yummy and satisfying.

Chakra Burger 

Homemade burger bun with homemade beef patty, lettuce, tomato, beef bacon, melted cheese, and onion rings. The portion is big, really enough to satisfy your tummy, the patty is a lil bit dry for us but still tasted very good! The onion rings are a good companion to the burger.

And let's move to the dessert...

Monster Cookie Ice Cream

It's a warm home made cookie served with ice cream on top. The cookie is soft and it's perfected with the ice cream. We think this dessert is perfect for sharing.

Red Riding Hood

Pink sugar crumb (gulali) served with ice cream and crust tuil dough. The prettiest desserts among others. If desserts have gender, this menu must be a girl haha :'D because it's really pinky! You must eat the ice cream with gulali to get the unique sensation.

Apple Crumble

Crunchy apple cake with sweet crumble on top. We're a fan of apple crumble so yes we love it. Sweet and savoury!

Churos Con Chocolate

Deep fried churros dough served with chocolate sauce. It's a fun dessert for sharing. Love the chocolate sauce, it's not to sweet. The churros have a unique taste, kind a like doughnuts but still tasted good. 

Overall, we're really amused with all the menu that they served. What we really like about Chakra's menu is their generous portion! They also served a nice coffee too thanks to the coffee machine from Severin (You should check their instagram @severin_id)

We tried their pempek tahu, kulit, kapal selam kecil, pastel, and lenjer. They serve it with bihun, cucumber, and kuah cuka.

Very very savory! Their MUST TRY menu are pempek tahu and kulit. There are 2 kinds of kuah cuka that you can use for your pempek : sweet or spicy cuka. We really recommend you to try their spicy cuka because it's very unique and different from others pempek restaurant. The spicy cuka really elevates the flavor.

Tekwan (22k)

We really love their Tekwan. Warm and very delish! Don't forget to add their special chilli for spicy flavor.

Es Kacang Merah (15k)

We also tried their recommended dessert, Es Kacang Merah. Very delicious and perfect for hot weather! Not too sweet and their red beans are very moist. A very nice dessert to end our lunch at Pempek 333.

So far, we think that this restaurant serves the best pempek in town. Make sure you drop yourself to Pempek 333 and prove it to yourself.

We found this petite cafe at Ruko Blitz Gading Serpong (near Flow Coffee). Nice ambience and comfy. Simple interior, dominated with wood furnitures and bright colours like yellow and green (and it's our favourite colours so big yeyy! <3)

According to the name, you may realize that this cafe sells Japanese foods like yakitori and ramen. Their menus are very very cute and looks so tempting.

Yakitori Set A : 2 chicken, 2 chicken skin, 1 chikuwa enoki (30k)

This chicken yakitori is served with chilli sauce. Nice seasoning and it could be a great snacks for sharing.

Yakitori Kids : 2 oriental surimi, 2 farm friends (30k)

We found it really cute. This cute menu is served with sweet and chilli sauce. It's also tasted good and it could be a great company for your lil bro/sis/kids!

Buta Ramen (33k)

There are 2 choices for the meat : chicken (ayamu) and pork (buta). Also, you can choose your hot level : 1/2/3. We tried their level 3 and it's very spicy! So, if you're not a f

an of spicy food, make sure you order their level 1 or maybe ask them to remove the chilli. We think it tasted good and looks tempting.

Insutanto Ramen (23k)

Another cute menu to be captured! It's a bowl of ramen with cute surimi. You can also choose your hot level : 1/2/3. Nice presentation and tasted okay.

The owner is very very nice! They give us a free ice cream for compliment. Thank you so much!
